Dustin Nelson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and sectors. Dustin started their career at Isd 709 as an IT Field Technician, where they gained experience in deploying systems, maintaining Active Directory, and troubleshooting. Dustin then worked at TeamNelson as a Web Design/Developer, specializing in creating and maintaining websites. Following this, Dustin joined ARI Network Services, Inc. as an Information Security Engineer, responsible for monitoring and maintaining enterprise SIEM, IDS, and IPS solutions. Dustin also worked on architecting and maintaining the ELK stack for the in-house SIEM solution and monitoring the anti-virus solution. Additionally, Dustin served as a Track and Field Coach at Isd 709 during their time there. Overall, Dustin has showcased their expertise in IT support, web development, and information security throughout their career.

Dustin Nelson's education history includes a Master's degree in Information Technology Security from Western Governors University, which they obtained in 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology at the same university, from 2008 to 2012. Before attending Western Governors University, Dustin studied Exercise Physiology at the College of Saint Scholastica from 2004 to 2007, although they did not obtain a degree in that field.

In addition to their formal education, Dustin has acquired various certifications. Dustin obtained the MCP and Office 365 SB certifications from Microsoft in April 2013. In January 2012, they became a JavaScript Specialist certified by CIW, and in August 2011, they obtained the Database Design Specialist certification from the same institution. Dustin's other certifications include Web Design Specialist, Web Foundations Associate, MCTS, and Windows 7 certifications from CIW and Microsoft, all obtained between 2009 and 2013. Furthermore, they obtained CompTIA certifications in Network+, Project +, Security+, and A+ in 2008. Finally, Dustin became a Barracuda NextGen Firewall F Certified Engineer in March 2017 and a Barracuda Load Balancer ADC Certified Engineer in March 2015.
