Bernhard Bernhardsson

Bernhard Bernhardsson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Bernhard started their career as a Lektor/Assistant Professor at Háskólinn á Bifröst - Bifröst University in 2002 and held this position until 2007. Afterwards, they joined SPM Savings Bank, where they served as the Head of Financing, responsible for financing the bank and building relationships with European banks. In 2008, they were promoted to the position of CEO of SPM Savings Bank, a role they held until 2009.

Following their time at SPM Savings Bank, Bernhardsson joined Arion banki in 2009 as the Regional Manager for West-Iceland and the Westfjords. In this role, they oversaw the retail operations of Arion bank, managing four bank branches that provided financial services to individuals and SMEs. In 2016, they were promoted to Head of Products, Pricing, and E-commerce at Arion banki, responsible for these key areas of the bank's operations.

Most recently, Bernhardsson has taken on the role of Consul General at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Iceland, starting in June 2019. This position involves representing the Dutch government and facilitating diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Bernhard Bernhardsson pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance, General at the University of Edinburgh Business School from 2001 to 2002.
