Darren Dowker

Darren Dowker is currently a Senior Architect at Arize AI. Prior to this, they spent 8 years at Ciena as a Senior Principal Engineer. There, they were a founding member of Blue Planet and worked on automation, cloud, modeling, SDN, OSS, TMF, NFV, and software development. Darren also did acquisition due diligence for the company.

Before Ciena, Darren was with Cyan for 4 years as a Senior Principal Engineer. Darren was also a founding member of Blue Planet there and worked on openstack, SDN, networking, modeling, TOSCA, and python.

Prior to that, Darren was an Engineer at Entourage Systems, Inc. for 3 years. Darren worked on Tablet (E-Ink, Android) education startup and developed E-reader software apps on proprietary hardware.

Darren has also worked as a Senior Principal Engineer at Tellabs and Advanced Fibre Communications (which was acquired by Tellabs). At both companies they worked on software development projects.

Lastly, Darren spent 4 years as a Senior Software Engineer at Racal Datacom.

Throughout their 25 year career, Darren has gained experience in many different areas of software development and engineering. Darren is an expert in typescript, golang, python, scala, akka, and optical networking.

Darren Dowker's educational career includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
