John Dechant

John Dechant has extensive experience in law enforcement, commencing a career at the Arizona Department of Corrections as a Special Investigator in the Security Threat Group Unit from January 1995 to May 2006. John transitioned to the Arizona Department of Public Safety in May 2006, where roles included Police Detective for the Governor's Protective Detail, state gang task force, and General Investigations Unit. Additionally, John served as a task force detective for the FBI's Violent Street Gang Task Force from January 2011 to November 2015 and held positions with the ATF and Phoenix Police Department. John contributed to the Arizona Gang Investigators Association as a board member from 2010 to 2017. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Northern Arizona University, earned between 1989 and 1993.
