Ben Alteneder

Ben Alteneder currently serves as the Chief Legislative Liaison for the Arizona Department of Water Resources since December 2019, where responsibilities include advocating for the agency before the legislature and coordinating its legislative agenda. Prior experience includes managing legislative affairs for the Arizona Department of Corrections and serving as the Sr. Director of Government Affairs for First Things First. Ben has also held roles focusing on community and congressional relations at the Arizona Game and Fish Department and worked as a Managing Partner at Backcountry Consulting. Earlier positions include Legislative Liaison at the Arizona State Land Department and Assistant Legislative Liaison at the Arizona Game and Fish Department, with foundational experience as a Staff Assistant in the Arizona House of Representatives. Ben Alteneder earned a B.S. in Political Science from Arizona State University between 2001 and 2004.
