Conservation Education & Science Director at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum`

Debbie Colodner serves as the Director of Conservation Education and Science at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum since January 2006, where responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary education and science programs, overseeing research, and managing educational initiatives for diverse audiences. Previously, Debbie held the role of Associate Director at the Center for Sonoran Desert Studies, focusing on educational programming for children and managing Earth Sciences collections at the Museum. Earlier experience includes directing educational programming at the Flandrau Science Center at the University of Arizona, founding undergraduate programs at Columbia University's Biosphere 2 Center, and conducting research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Educational qualifications consist of a PhD in Oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and multiple Bachelor’s degrees in Geology and Geophysics from Yale University.
