Dan Johnson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in hydrogeology and mining-related engineering. Currently serving as Project Director at Arizona Sonoran Copper Company Inc. since February 2022, Dan leads engineering and scientific studies for prefeasibility and feasibility projects, particularly focused on the revamp of a brownfield mine slated for production in 2027. Previously, Dan held the position of Principal Hydrogeologist at Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, overseeing major mining studies domestically and internationally. As Vice-President and General Manager at Florence Copper Inc., Dan managed all aspects of the Florence Copper In-Situ Copper Recovery Project, emphasizing safety, environmental impact, and stakeholder relations. Dan’s earlier roles included senior management and technical positions at KGHM International, Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., and Rio Tinto, complemented by a Master's Degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences from the University of Arizona.
