Alberto Olivas, M.Ed., serves as the Founding Executive Director of the Congressman Pastor Center for Politics & Public Service at Arizona State University, a role held since January 2016. The center honors the legacy of Congressman Ed Pastor and promotes political engagement and public service among students and the community. Alberto's extensive experience includes roles such as Collaborator/Research Partner at the Kettering Foundation, Director of the Center for Civic Participation at Maricopa Community Colleges, and various positions within the Arizona State government, including Director of the Governor's Office of Equal Opportunity. Alberto is also actively engaged in civic leadership development, having participated in programs such as the Civic Saturday Fellowship and the Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Arizona State University.
