Sean Kim

Sean Kim has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Sean started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Purdue University in 2013, working at the HIRRT Lab. From 2013 to 2015, they also served as a Petty Officer Third Class in the Republic of Korea Navy.

In 2016, Sean continued their undergraduate studies at Purdue University and held multiple positions including Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Biotransport Phenomena Laboratory, Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Lab of Translational Neuroscience, and Design Team Member at Engineering Projects in Community Service.

After graduating, they joined Cornell University in 2018 as a Research Assistant at The Bonassar Research Group. Apart from this role, they also served as a Graduate Peer Tutor at the John S. Knight Institute for Writing in the Disciplines, Graduate Teaching Assistant for Statics and Mechanics of Materials, and Commercialization Fellow at the College of Engineering.

Sean further expanded their experience by working as a Process Integration R&D Engineer at Samsung Foundry in 2022 and as an Entrepreneur Lead (Innovation Corps) at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Sean later joined Ark Biotech in 2023 as a Senior Research Associate - Tissue Engineer.

Sean Kim attended Purdue University from 2012 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After completing their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at Cornell University, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from 2018 to 2021. Following their master's program, Sean continued their education at Cornell University, focusing on their passion for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Sean started their PhD program in 2021 and is expected to complete it in 2023. Alongside their formal education, Sean also obtained additional certifications, including ISO 13485: Medical Devices QMS from Udemy in October 2022, a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from Cornell University College of Engineering in May 2022, and Open Water Diver certification from IANTD in January 2015.
