Tonya Jetton

Middle School Science Teacher at Arkansas Arts Academy

Tonya Jetton has been a dedicated science teacher at Arkansas Arts Academy since August 2014, teaching various grade levels including 5th and 6th grades, and has previous experience teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies. Additionally, Tonya served on the principal's advisory committee and participated in a leadership academy from 2019 to 2021. Prior to this role, Tonya taught science for grades 5-8 at Confluence Academy - Walnut Park in late 2013 and gained classroom experience in social studies and language arts during an internship at Fort Smith Public Schools. Early career experiences include working as a sales associate at Dillards, and serving as a teacher's aide in kindergarten and participating in practicum placements focused on 5th grade science and 7th grade math. Tonya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Education with a focus on Language Arts and Social Studies from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, earned between 2005 and 2012.
