Alvin S. is a Robotics Software Engineer at Armstrong Robotics since September 2022, with prior experience as a Student Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University from February 2020 to August 2022. Alvin has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Deep Reinforcement Learning course at CMU and completed a Software Engineer Internship at Uber ATG, where notable achievements included optimizing GPU runtime for motion planning and significantly improving real-time costing. During an internship at Canvas Construction, Alvin developed obstacle avoidance algorithms and path planning solutions, alongside experience as a Full Stack Engineering Intern at Tempo Automation, focusing on production cycle improvements and API development. Alvin holds a Master’s degree in Robotics and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
