Dustin Maertz's work experience begins with their role as a Lead Technical Artist at ARound, a Stagwell company, where they help venues and retailers build and manage augmented reality experiences. Prior to this, they worked as a Lead Technical Artist at Object Theory, where they oversaw 3D asset production and contributed to numerous enterprise Hololens applications. Before that, they specialized in 3D prop and environment art as a 3D Artist at Liquid Development, working on projects such as Halo 5 and Smite. Additionally, they gained experience as a 3D Design Intern at IDL Worldwide, a Technology Assistant at The Art Institute of Portland, a Contract CG Artist at Atomic Sky LLC, and as the Lead Technical Artist on a game called Hellborne at Mystic Beard.

Dustin Maertz attended The Art Institutes from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a degree in Game Art and Design with a specialization in 3D Artist.
