Dr. Luis Moreno

Dr. Luis Moreno has a range of work experience in the field of student services and leadership. Dr. Luis currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Arrowhead Youth and Family Services starting from July 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of Dean of Student Success at Black Hawk College from January 2018 to February 2019, and Dean of Student Services from June 2014 to December 2017. Dr. Luis also served as the Dean of Student Services at Sauk Valley Community College from September 2007 to June 2014.

In addition to their roles in academia, Dr. Moreno has experience in law enforcement as a Police Officer at the East Moline Police Department from April 1991 to June 1996. Before that, they held various positions at Western Illinois University, including Director of Student Services and Assistant Director of Student Services. Dr. Luis has demonstrated leadership and provided support in areas such as admissions, financial aid, counseling, student activities, and diversity initiatives.

Dr. Luis Moreno holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Higher Education, which was obtained from the University of Iowa between 2008 and 2019. Prior to this, they earned a Masters degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration with a focus on Student Union Management from Western Illinois University from 1996 to 2003. Dr. Luis'sBachelor's degree in Law Enforcement Administration was also obtained from Western Illinois University between 1984 and 1987.
