Joe Iverson

Director, Engagement at Art Institute of Chicago

Joe Iverson currently serves as the Director of Engagement at the Art Institute of Chicago since March 2018, where responsibilities include reshaping audience engagement strategies and aligning messaging with institutional priorities. Previously, as Associate Director of Auxiliaries, Joe refocused content and operations for ten philanthropic groups, with recommendations successfully adopted by museum leadership. Joe's experience at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago included roles as Planning and Production Manager and Coordinator of Public Programs, where notable achievements included doubling revenue and attendance for major events. Earlier positions as Curatorial Assistant at Sullivan Galleries and Assistant Director of Exhibitions at CSB/SJU Fine Arts Programming refined Joe's curatorial and administrative skills. Joe holds a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from Saint John's University and two Master’s Degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Modern to Contemporary Art History and Arts Administration and Policy.
