John Bolen

John Bolen is an experienced instructor and writer with expertise in English Language Arts and creative writing. Currently serving as an Instructor at Art of Problem Solving since December 2022, Bolen teaches rhetoric, composition, and academic argument formulation to students aged 12-15. As a freelance writer and editor since January 2014, Bolen has collaborated with various publications, including Highlights magazine and United Airlines’ Hemispheres. Bolen has also held roles as an Editorial Strategist at Wiley and as a Writing Instructor at the University of Florida, where diverse courses were taught across multiple writing disciplines. Additionally, Bolen contributed as an Assistant Editor for the Subtropics Literary Journal, managing fiction submissions and editorial processes. Educational credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from The University of the South.
