Willem Nissink

Willem Nissink is an experienced computational chemist with a robust background in drug design and lead-generation projects. Currently serving as Associate Director at Artios Pharma Limited since February 2024, Nissink has held multiple significant roles at Artios Pharma Ltd, including Senior Principal Scientist and Principal Scientist since December 2021. Prior to this, Nissink contributed to AstraZeneca as Associate Principal Scientist from April 2006 to December 2021, focusing on lead-generation and lead-optimisation projects. Earlier experience includes a position as Senior Scientific Software Engineer at the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, where Nissink led the development of drug design tools, particularly for the SuperStar and Gold products. Nissink holds a post-doctoral degree in Computational Chemistry from The Philipp University of Marburg, a PhD in Infrared Spectroscopy, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, all complemented by foundational education at Gymnasium Bernrode.
