Art has been on the Arts Club board of directors since 2017 and is currently the Chair. Art went to the University of Arizona on a music scholarship, obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall, and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1973. He has been in private practice in Vancouver since that time and serves as General Counsel to the Canadian Football League Players Association. In 2013, Art was President of the Law Society of British Columbia and has served as President of the Trial Lawyers of BC. He was the Founding Chair of the Lawyers Assistant Program (LAP) and has been recognized by the Law Society, the Trial Lawyers, and the LAP for his outstanding leadership and service. Art has also been honoured by Osgoode Hall Law School as a distinguished alumnus and was presented with the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal. In addition to his service in the legal profession, Art has been active in community sports and UBC Hockey, and he has a keen interest in promoting and serving the arts community in BC.
