Laurel Shute is a seasoned artist and educator with extensive experience in teaching various artistic disciplines, including printmaking, painting, and mixed media. Currently serving as a Printmaking Instructor at Garrison Art Center since September 2022, Laurel has also instructed at Westchester Community College since July 2010 and has been a Teaching Artist for the Brooklyn Museum since 1990. Additionally, Laurel has held roles such as Interim Gallery/Studio Coordinator at ArtsWestchester and has contributed to programs at renowned institutions such as Lincoln Center and the Whitney Museum. As an artist, Laurel showcases a diverse portfolio and continues to engage with students of all ages through innovative studio art courses. Laurel’s educational background includes a BFA and MFA in Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design and studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.
