Artsy is seeking a Trust and Safety Associate to join our team to support our growing marketplace and establish Artsy as the most trusted online destination for purchasing fine art.

This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our marketplace. You will handle post-sale disputes, chargebacks, investigate suspicious incidents, prevent fraud, and perform Know Your Customer and Anti Money Laundering (KYC and AML) due diligence on our users. This role offers the opportunity to shape and enforce the policies that ensure a safe and enjoyable buying experience for our collectors. 

You will be at the forefront of the Artsy user experience, working directly with both buyers and sellers and collaborating with various internal teams. This role requires resilience, effective communication in high-pressure situations, and a thorough attention to detail. 

This is a full time hybrid role, with in office attendance required 2 days a week. The role is based in our London office. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Resolve post-sale disputes involving claims of authenticity, damage, and description inaccuracies 
  • Perform KYC and AML verifications for Artsy users 
  • Monitor transaction and auction activities to identify and address potential fraud
  • Collaborate with internal teams on the development and enforcement of our Trust and Safety policies 
  • Address user issues related to security incidents, unauthorized activities, and other suspicious events 
  • Drive Trust and Safety initiatives across the business

Who You Are:

  • 1-2 years of experience working within an eCommerce environment, Operations, or Trust and Safety
  • Thorough attention to detail 
  • Experience in fraud, investigations or policy compliance
  • Proven skills in time management and effective prioritization 
  • Strong communication and mediation abilities, especially in high pressure situations involving internal and external parties
  • Ability to adapt in stressful or unexpected situations
  • You are currently authorized to live and work in the United Kingdom. This role will be based in London.

It's an added plus, although not essential, if you bring the below:

  • Knowledge of art history and/or the art market
  • Knowledge of internet security best practises
