Carter Cleveland is the founder and executive chairman of Artsy, a company that empowers a global audience to learn about, discover, and collect art. Carter served as the founder and CEO of Artsy from June 2009 to July 2019. Prior to that, they worked as an intern at Give Real in 2008, where they focused on web development and business development. In 2007, Carter worked as an intern at Citigroup, specifically at TOB Capital, where they developed software and conducted quantitative analysis for municipal bonds. Carter also worked as an intern at the Institute of International Education in 2004, where they published a paper focused on a prominent physicist's contributions to the field of quantum mechanics. Additionally, Carter worked as an assistant researcher at the NASA Ames Research Center in 2004, contributing to the understanding of the effects of hyper-gravity on neurological development. Currently, they serve as a principal advisor at Pixm, Inc. since March 2020.
Carter Cleveland attended Princeton University from 2005 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
