Cara Tracewell

Cara Tracewell has over 15 years of experience in the field of biotechnology. In 2022, they began working as the Director of Assay Development at Arzeda. Prior to this, they were a Senior Scientist and Scientific and Technical Team Lead at Zymergen, Inc. from 2016 to 2022. From 2010 to 2016, they were a Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist II at Genomatica. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Research Scientist at Strategic Enzyme Applications. From 2005 to 2009, they were a Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology, where they implemented directed evolution technologies to evolve a transcription factor.

Cara Tracewell holds a PhD in Biophysical Chemistry from Yale University, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and minor in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington, and a diploma from the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities. Cara also holds certifications from the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE), the Burn Institute, and PADI.
