Michael Louie

Michael Louie has worked for seven different companies since 2002. Michael began their career at Kemin Industries as a Senior Scientist, before joining the Center for Biocatalysis & Bioprocessing at the University of Iowa as Associate Director in 2006. Michael also worked as a Research Scientist for the Department of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering at the same university. In 2011, they moved to OPX Biotechnologies, Inc. as a Senior Scientist, and then to Cargill as a Senior Enzymologist in 2015. In 2019, they joined AbSci as a Principal Scientist, and most recently, they have been working at Arzeda as Associate Director (Strain Design) since 2022.

Michael Louie obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from The University of British Columbia in 1992, following their studies from 1989-1992. Michael then went on to receive a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology from The University of British Columbia in 1998.
