Clinical Director at Ascend Behavioral Health

Jason Christopherson, PsyD, ABPP has a diverse range of work experience in the field of clinical psychology. Jason is currently serving as the Clinical Director at Ascend Behavioral Health since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at the Sullivan Center for Children for a significant period of time. Jason held various roles at the Sullivan Center, including Assistant Clinical Director & Director of Training, Senior Staff Psychologist, Postdoctoral Fellow, and Psychological Intern. During their time there, they were involved in individual, group, and family therapy, primarily focused on children and adolescents. Additionally, they gained experience in teaching as an Adjunct Faculty and Visiting Assistant Professor at Alliant International University. Before that, they worked as a Psychological Trainee at the W. Gary Cannon Psychological Service Center (PSC), where they provided individual therapy to children and adolescents as well as couples and family therapy. Jason also served as a Psychological Trainee at the Assessment Center for Children at Exceptional Parents Unlimited, where they conducted therapy with young children and performed mental health assessments. Furthermore, they have worked as a Substitute Teacher at the Central Unified School District and as a Volleyball Referee for the Central Valley Referee Association. Jason also gained experience as a Psychological Trainee at Washington Academic Middle School, providing short-term therapy to students in grades 6-8. Prior to their career in psychology, they worked as a Team Trainer at Sorenson Communications. Overall, Jason Christopherson has a strong background and expertise in clinical psychology, with a specific focus on working with children and adolescents.

Jason Christopherson, PsyD, ABPP earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Fresno City College in 2006. Jason then obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from the University of Utah between 2007 and 2009. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University-Fresno from 2009 to 2011. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree in Clinical Psychology, also at Alliant International University-Fresno, from 2011 to 2013.
