Steve Pratt

Steve Pratt is currently a board member at Ascend Indiana. Steve was previously the administrative director and project coordinator at Indiana University Maurer School of Law from July 2015 to September 2021. In this role, they provided administrative oversight for the Center for Intellectual Property Research and managed the department’s student and pro bono activities budget. Steve also managed outreach efforts by maintaining the Center’s website, managing the Center's social media pages, and drafting newsletters targeting prospective students, alumni, and IP faculty nationwide.

Pratt also fostered the growth of the intellectual property legal community in the region by connecting faculty, students, and community partners to one another. Steve created multiple project timelines and managed projects to completion through diligent follow-up, organization and reporting analysis. In addition, they facilitated payments and controlled expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices and purchase orders. Steve also led project management efforts including road maps, setting milestones, and identifying project objectives within identified scope.

Finally, Pratt designed, coordinated, and promoted over thirty events annually for student, professional, and community member audiences. Steve also developed and maintained effective systems for project documentation, calendar management, project tracking, and electronic information retrieval. Steve supervised the Center’s twelve temporary, contracted, and student employees.

Steve Pratt has a Master of Public Administration from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, a Masters of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington, and a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College. Steve also participated in a study abroad program at Central European University. Steve has certification from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in Proposal Writing and Grant Management and from the City of Bloomington, IN in Citizen's Academy.
