Lead System Engineer at Aselsan

Burak Tuysuz, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof, CSEP has a diverse work experience in various research and teaching roles. From 2019 to present, they have worked as a Lead System Engineer and Lead Radar Systems Engineer at Aselsan. Prior to this, from 2014 to 2019, they served as an Assistant Professor at RTEU, Recep Tayyip Erdogan University. Burak also gained experience as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Penn State University from 2008 to 2013, where they worked on the simulation and development of a passive VHF radar system. As part of their work in this role, they designed a flexible and low-cost radar system called CAPRI. Additionally, they pursued a research internship at Jicamarca Radio Observatory, Peru in 2009 and worked as a Scientific Researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology during the same year. Their earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at University of Gaziantep from 2005 to 2007, where they focused on computer aided detection of breast tumors in magnetic resonance images. Overall, Burak Tuysuz has a strong background in engineering and research, with expertise in radar systems, software defined radio techniques, and medical image analysis.

Burak Tuysuz, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof, CSEP, completed their education in a diverse range of fields. Burak earned their Ph.D. in Development and Implementation of a Passive VHF Radar System Using Software Defined Radio Techniques from Penn State University in 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Tumor Detection Using Wavelet Transform in Digital Magnetic Resonance Images from the University of Gaziantep between 2005 and 2007. In 2004, they were a Visiting Student at the Engineering College of Copenhagen where they studied Neural Networks and Wireless Communication. Burak Tuysuz also completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electromagnetics and Digital Signal Processing from the University of Gaziantep, spanning from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they hold the certification of Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) from INCOSE.
