Meredith McKinney, MS, ALM has an extensive education history. In 2002 to 2005, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Crime and Justice Studies from The University of Texas at Dallas. Following this, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Sociology from the same university.

In 2018, Meredith attended various institutions and completed several certificate programs related to their interests in international relations and peacekeeping operations. Meredith obtained a Certificate of Completion in "Principals and Guidelines for UN Peacekeeping Operations" from the Peace Operations Training Institute. Additionally, they received four certificate of completions from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in different fields of study. These included "Environment, Natural Resources & Peacekeeping Operations: Restoring Governance of Natural Resources", "Strengthening Civilian Capacities to Protect Civilians: Unarmed Civilian Protection", "Milestones in UN Peacekeeping", and "Gender Matters".
