Tyler de Gier began their work experience as an Engineer in Training at Fluor, Irving Oil, and Lloyd's Register in 2006. Tyler then worked as an Engineer in Training at Leighton Contractors in 2007. From 2007 to 2016, Tyler served as a Lead Business Development Engineer and Project Manager at Welaptega Marine Limited, where they verified engineering designs and performed audits and inspections on floating production stationkeeping systems. In 2016, they joined the Canada Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board as an Advisor and Operational Safety Officer, where they conducted audits and inspections of offshore installations and monitored asset integrity and decommissioning activities. In 2019, Tyler worked as an Engineering Manager at Welaptega before transitioning to their current role as Engineering Manager, Asset Integrity at Ashtead Technology later that year.
Tyler de Gier holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University. Tyler has not obtained any additional certifications.
