Chieko Yokota

Chieko Yokota serves as a Gender Specialist in the Gender Equality Division at the Asian Development Bank since November 2023. Prior experience includes directing the Agriculture and Rural Development Group at the Japan International Cooperation Agency from February 2023 to November 2023, and working as an Operations Officer in the Gender and Economic Inclusion Group at the International Finance Corporation from February 2021 to February 2023. Chieko has held various roles at JICA, including Director and Deputy Director positions focused on gender equality and poverty reduction. Additional experience includes roles as an Assistant Resident Representative in the Philippines and Pakistan, as well as a Research Officer at Concern Worldwide and an Evaluation Officer at JICA. Chieko's academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Governance and Development from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
