Pasi Hellman

Board Member at Asian Development Bank

Pasi Hellman is the current Governor at the Asian Development Bank. Pasi has also served as Managing Director at the Nordic Development Fund and Alternate Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank. In addition, they have been a Board Member at responsAbility Renewable Energy Holding company.

Pasi Hellman has over fifteen years of experience in the management of international financial institutions. Pasi is an expert in development and climate finance, and has successfully managed a project portfolio of 100+ projects, worth a total of EUR 300+ million. Pasi has also managed total assets of more than EUR 800 million.

In 2012, Pasi Hellman initiated NDF's first-ever comprehensive Results-Based Management framework, which has delivered demonstrated results. Pasi also initiated NDF's first-ever non-capital base related resource mobilization, and delivered voluntary contributions, including from non-member states, to NDF operations.

From 2004 to 2007, Pasi Hellman represented four Nordic countries (as part of a larger multi-country constituency) in the board of directors of the Asian Development Bank - the largest regional development bank focusing solely on all countries in developing Asia.

In November 2017, Pasi Hellman joined the Board of Directors of responsAbility Renewable Energy Holding company (rAREH), where they served until October 2018.

Pasi Hellman received a D.Sc. in Economics from the Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku, followed by a National Defense Course (Maanpuolustuskurssi) MPK-196 from the same school. Pasi then went on to receive an M.Sc. in Economics from the Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku. Pasi Hellman's educational career began with him attending Jyväskylän Lyseo, a high school in Finland. Pasi later transferred to Roosevelt High School in Portland, Oregon.
