Ahmed Adam has extensive experience in the field of human rights and advocacy, currently serving as Programme Manager for UN Advocacy at the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) since February 2013, following roles as Senior Programme Officer, Programme Officer, and Researcher. Previously, Ahmed held positions at The President's Office in the Maldives, serving as Deputy Director of Press and Assistant Director of Research from February 2009 to July 2011. Ahmed holds a Master of Human Rights and Democratisation from the University of Sydney (2011-2012) and a Bachelor of Social Science in Communications and Public Relations from The University of Queensland (2005-2008).

The Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) is a network of 87 member organisations across 23 countries, mainly in Asia. Founded in 1991, FORUM-ASIA works to strengthen movements for human rights and sustainable development through research, advocacy, capacity development and solidarity actions in Asia and beyond. It has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and consultative relationship with the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights.
