Ludger Schuknecht is a distinguished economist with extensive experience in international finance and public policy. Currently serving as Vice President and Corporate Secretary at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank since August 2021, Schuknecht previously held roles such as Visiting Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Deputy Secretary General at the OECD, and Chief Economist at the German Federal Ministry of Finance. Additional experience includes positions at the European Central Bank, World Trade Organization, International Monetary Fund, and University of Konstanz. Schuknecht earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Konstanz, where academic pursuits began in 1988 and concluded in 1992.
