HaeWon Chung has a diverse work experience in the field of synthetic biology and cell line development. HaeWon began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Seoul National University in 2009, where they conducted research until 2011. HaeWon then joined The University of Texas at Austin in 2011 and held various roles, including Lab Manager, Graduate Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and President of a student organization. In 2017, Chung joined Sanofi as a Postdoctoral Fellow, specializing in cell line development and continued in this role until April 2019. Currently, they are working at Asimov as a Mammalian Synthetic Biologist since May 2019. HaeWon Chung began their education at Posung Highschool, where they completed their high school education from 1999 to 2002. HaeWon then went on to attend Seoul National University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Bioscience, studying from 2002 to 2008. Following their undergraduate studies, Chung pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Bioscience from Seoul National University, which they completed from 2009 to 2011. Finally, they continued their academic journey at The University of Texas at Austin, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell and Molecular Biology, studying from 2011 to 2017.
