Brian O’Malley

Brian O'Malley has a diverse work experience in the field of security and law enforcement. Brian currently holds the position of Director of Security at ASM Global, where they are responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the general public, employees, guests, and visitors at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Prior to this role, Brian spent a significant portion of their career at the Port Authority of Allegheny County. Brian served as a Police Lieutenant and was responsible for training and development, as well as the development and maintenance of security and police department policies and programs. Brian also held the positions of Police Sergeant and Patrolman during their time at the Port Authority.

Brian O'Malley's education history includes attending the FBI National Academy in 2019, where they studied general leadership. Prior to that, they attended Washington & Jefferson College from 1992 to 1996 and studied sociology. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications, including Active Shooter Response Instructor from the National Tactical Officers Association in June 2021, Firearms Training [Instructor] from NLEFIA - National Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association in May 2021, Excited Delirium response Instructor from the Institute for the Prevention of In-Custody Deaths, Inc. in July 2020, Police Executive Development (POLEX) from the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute in May 2015, and Police Supervisory In-Service Training (POSIT) from the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute in October 2011.
