Matthew Poynter

Design Team President at ASME

Matthew Poynter has had a variety of work experiences. In 2023, they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Knott Laboratory, LLC where they reconstructed vehicle accident scenes and drafted engineering reports. Matthew also calculated and analyzed data for legal cases. In the same year, they served as the Design Team President at ASME, leading a group of twenty students in creating a design for a competition and managing weekly meetings and tasks. Prior to that, from 2021 to 2022, Matthew worked in local landscaping. Their earliest work experience was in 2020 at Poynter Law LLC, where they were an Administrative Coordinator. In this role, they communicated with clients, managed case filings, and coordinated meetings and depositions for the legal team.

Matthew Poynter pursued their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2022 to 2026. Prior to that, they attended Cherry Creek High School from 2018 to 2022, where they were undecided in terms of their degree and field of study. In 2023, they also obtained the MATLAB Training Course certification from MathWorks.
