Markus Hijlkema has an extensive background in physics and product development. Starting as a PhD student at Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, Markus went on to hold various senior scientist positions at Philips Research, specializing in Microsystems&Devices and Minimally Invasive Healthcare. Markus later transitioned to Philips Respiratory Drug Delivery as an Advanced Development Leader, before becoming a Project Manager for Product Development at Philips. Currently, Markus serves as the Principal architect optical sensing at ASML. Their educational background includes a Doctorate in Physics from Technical University of Munich and an MSc in Experimental Physics from Utrecht University.
