Karen van Haaften Dvm

Karen van Haaften DVM, DACVB is a seasoned Veterinary Behaviorist currently employed at the ASPCA since May 2022. With a robust background in animal behavior and welfare, Karen held the position of Senior Manager Behaviour and Welfare at the British Columbia SPCA from January 2018 to April 2022 and served as a Special Advisor in Animal Behaviour for BCSPCA for a brief period in late 2017. Prior to these roles, Karen completed a Clinical Behavior Residency at UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital from August 2014 to July 2017. Additional experience includes working as an Associate ER/ICU Veterinarian at the Animal Emergency Centre in Melbourne and fulfilling various veterinary roles, including locum veterinarian and associate veterinarian, in small animal practice. Karen obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Guelph and completed the Clinical Behavior Residency at the University of California, Davis.
