Sylvia Bender

Sylvia Bender is an accomplished energy planning professional with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as Principal Energy Planner at Aspen Environmental Group since November 2020, Bender previously held significant roles at the California Energy Commission from March 1995 to September 2018, culminating in the position of Deputy Director of the Energy Assessments Division. Bender's career also includes positions such as Manager and Supervisor in the Demand Analysis Office, Energy Efficiency Specialist, and Associate Energy Specialist. Earlier roles include Senior Librarian for the California Department of Conservation and Associate Professor at the University of the Pacific, emphasizing research skills and information literacy.
