Reniër Basson

Reniër Basson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Reniër started their career as a Laboratory Assistant at the Atomic Energy Corporation of South Africa in 1995. Reniër then joined Dimension Data, where they held multiple roles including Remote Support Engineer, Site Manager, and Service Delivery Manager. In 2005, they joined Business Connexion as a Service Delivery Manager and later took on roles such as Senior Manager for Solutions Development and Senior Project Manager. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as an Advisory Consultant for Business Connexion before joining Aspen Pharma Group. At Aspen, they held various positions including Head of Operations and Service Management Group IT, Acting Head of IT, and currently serves as the Group Executive for Digital Technology, with additional responsibility as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Throughout their career, Reniër has demonstrated expertise in IT management, project management, and solutions development.

Reniër Basson holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Business Administration and Management from UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, which they obtained from 2023 to 2026. Reniër also holds a Master of Business Administration - MBA degree in Business Administration and Management from Stellenbosch Business School, completed in 2019 to 2020. In 2018, they completed the Post Graduate Business Management and Administration program at Stellenbosch Business School. Furthermore, in 2014, they participated in the Executive Development Program (EDP) at Stellenbosch Business School. Prior to their higher education, Reniër attended Hartbeespoort from 1991 to 1994, but no degree or field of study was specified. Reniër has obtained various certifications in IT and governance throughout their career, including ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP), COBIT 2019, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), and others.
