Sean Oatis has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Sean started their career as a Music Instructor at Mid West School of Music, where they provided one-on-one guitar and bass instruction to students of all ages. Sean later worked as an Outdoor/Adventure specialist at Christian Haven Homes, where they organized outdoor activities for at-risk youths.

In 2006, Sean joined Damar Services, Inc. as an ABA Therapist, where they utilized applied behavior analysis principles to help individuals achieve socially appropriate goals. Sean also served as a Recreation Assistant at Damar Services, leading clients in leisure activities to improve their physical and mental well-being.

Sean then transitioned to a role as an Independent Living Instructor at Damar Services Inc., where they assisted special needs clients in developing skills necessary for independent living. Sean provided guidance on tasks such as doing laundry, opening a bank account, and basic computer skills.

In 2012, Sean became a Professional Musician at Emmanuel Baptist Church, showcasing their musical talents. During this time, they were also a Marriage And Family Therapist Intern at Aspire Indiana Health, where they engaged clients in intake documentation and provided clinical assessments and treatment planning. Sean later became a Care Coordinator/Life Skills Instructor at the same organization, helping individuals improve their mental health wellness and connect them to available services.

Sean's experience in counseling continued at Hope the High Road Counseling, where they worked as a Marriage And Family Therapist. Sean provided counseling services to individuals, couples, and families, addressing high-conflict situations, stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Sean aimed to support clients and enhance their coping skills.

Earlier in their career, Sean served as a Counselor/Director of Student Activities at Midwest Academy, a private school. In this role, they focused on addressing students' social, emotional, and academic needs, while also assisting teachers with developing effective strategies.

Sean Oatis attended Christian Theological Seminary from 1997 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Music from the University of Indianapolis. Sean then returned to Christian Theological Seminary in 2020 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally, Sean is also enrolled in a Master of Arts program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Christian Theological Seminary, which they expect to complete in 2023. In 2020, they began another program at Christian Theological Seminary called Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy, specializing in Systemic Therapeutic Services.
