Board Member at Aspire Public Schools

Christina Laster has been a board member at Aspire Public Schools since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as the director of policy and legislation for the National Parents Union from January 2020 to September 2022. From July 2018 to March 2020, they were the education chair for the NAACP. Before that, they were a statewide community organizer for the California Policy Center from January 2018 to December 2019. Christina began their career in education in 1995 as a paraeducator for San Diego City Schools, where they remained until 2007. In their role as a paraeducator, Christina was responsible for managing student, staff, and financial records, capital management and payroll for employees, collecting and managing fees, preparing reports on budget and staffing, and training staff at multiple locations on educational practices and fiscal control. Christina also assisted diploma-bound disabled students in life skill development and independent living.

Christina Laster has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from University of San Diego and an MBA in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University.
