Bin Peng

Lead Scientist in Modeling at Aspiring Universe

Bin is a leading agroecosystem modeler and remote sensing scientist. He got his B.S. on Geography from Nanjing University and his Ph.D. on Geoinformatics from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to his role at Habiterre, Bin also holds the appointments of research assistant professor and senior research scientist at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His academic research interests are ecohydrology, agroecology, earth system science and remote sensing, where he is actively pursuing deeper understanding of terrestrial carbon-water-nutrient cycles, land-atmosphere interactions, water-food security, and environmental sustainability under climate change and land use intensification.
