Luiz Garrido

Luiz Garrido has a strong background in technology and pipeline development for the visual effects (VFX) industry. Luiz is currently serving as the VP of Technology at Assembly VFX, where they lead a team of developers in maintaining and expanding the company's cloud-based infrastructure. Prior to this role, they worked as a Cloud Architect and Head of Pipeline at Nice Shoes, where they successfully migrated the VFX team from an on-premises infrastructure to a cloud-based system. Luiz also has experience as the Head of Technology at Alkemy X, where they developed critical projects that saved the company significant costs. Additionally, they founded their own render farm company called youFarm.me, which provided rendering services to the film and VFX industry. Throughout their career, Luiz has held various R&D and technical roles in companies such as O2 Filmes, Casablanca Animation, Ilegal FX, Vetor Zero | Lobo, and Z3 Convergence, where they showcased their expertise in pipeline development, crowd simulation, and programming. Luiz Garrido completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Business from AIEC University from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued studies in Electronics at Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica Celso Suckow da Fonseca from 1998 to 2000, though they did not obtain a degree in this field.
