Jian Zhang

Jian Zhang has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of medicinal chemistry and scientific research. Currently, Jian holds the position of Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Assembly Biosciences, Inc., a role they have held since June 2021. Prior to this, Jian worked at AbbVie as a Senior Principal Scientist from May 2018 to May 2021. They also had a significant tenure at Pharmacyclics, an AbbVie Company, where they served as a Staff Scientist from 2015 to 2018. Earlier in their career, Jian held roles at Amgen as a Senior Scientist from 2006 to 2014 and as a Scientist from 2004 to 2006. They also gained research experience at Tularik as a Scientist from 2001 to 2004. Before transitioning to industry, Jian completed their postdoctoral research at Purdue University in 2000 and at The University of Tokyo from 1998 to 1999.
