Joshua Bickel

Joshua Bickel is a visual journalist currently serving as a videojournalist for The Associated Press's Global Climate and Environment team, focusing on the intersection of climate and agriculture. Before this role, Joshua worked as a photojournalist at The Columbus Dispatch and held various freelance photography positions. Notably, Joshua was the chief photographer for ThisWeek Community Newspapers, where responsibilities included overseeing a team of photographers and coordinating coverage. Additional experience includes photojournalism roles at Casper Star-Tribune, Columbia Daily Tribune, and academic positions as an adjunct instructor and director of photography at the University of Missouri. Joshua holds a Master’s degree in Photojournalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Spanish from The University of Kansas.
