Peter Watson

Peter Watson is an experienced technology manager with a focus on broadcast standards and strategy in the media industry. Currently serving as Technology Manager for Global Video at Associated Press since February 2008, Peter leads a team in the rapid rollout of HD technologies and oversees significant upgrades to video systems both domestically and globally. Previously, Peter held various roles at BBC Resources and BBC Technology, including Technology Project Manager and Acting Technical Development Manager, where responsibilities included designing HD upgrades and supervising engineering operations at BBC Television Centre. Peter began a career in broadcasting as a Broadcast Systems Engineer, developing software control solutions and providing project support across various engineering sections. Education was completed through the BBC Engineering Training Department from 1984 to 1986.
