Patrick Criqui

Patrick Criqui is a Research director at CNRS, Director of the Economics of Sustainable Development and Energy laboratory (EDDEN, UPMF-CNRS Grenoble), a Member of the Economic Council for Sustainable Development of the Ministry of Ecology, and a Member of the scientific councils of the Nicolas Hulot Foundation and of the local climate plan for the Grenoble conurbation.

His first research focused on the economics of solar energy, then on the modeling of international energy markets. He then developed a long-term energy model, the POLES model, now used by the European Commission and various administrations or companies in Europe for the economic analysis of climate policies. He was also the "lead author" of Working Group No. 3 of the IPCC (collectively Nobel Peace Prize in 2007). He has taught or teaches at various universities in France and abroad.
