Chris Blackwood

Chris Blackwood has a diverse work experience in communications and PR. Chris started their career as a Teacher of Maths at Unity City Academy in 2004. From 2005 to 2011, they worked as a Senior Account Director at Band & Brown Communications, where they focused on consumer and financial PR. During this time, they were involved in notable projects such as the ING Direct Consumer Savings Monitor and the launch of the London Metropolitan Archives for Ancestry.

In 2011, Chris joined Third City and held various roles, including Associate Director and Partner. Here, they worked on brand and communications strategy, digital consultancy, PR, media relations, issues management, and consumer insight. Their achievements include being named PR Week's Young PR Professional of the Year.

From 2018 to 2023, Chris served as the Managing Director at Third City, specializing in PR across health and financial services, including banking, insurance, and fintech. Chris had expertise in traditional PR as well as SEO, social and digital marketing, and influencer, investor, and stakeholder relations.

Starting in 2023, Chris Blackwood joined the Association of British Insurers as the Head of Communications.

Chris Blackwood attended Durham University from 2001 to 2004, where they studied Biology. Prior to that, they also attended St. David's School in Middlesbrough, although the specific years are not provided.
