Isabel Mercedes Cumming is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in government oversight and legal prosecution. Currently serving as the First Vice President of the Association of Inspectors General, Isabel has been twice elected to this position and chairs both the Finance committee and the Integrity & Ethics committee. As Inspector General for the Baltimore City Office of the Inspector General since 2018, Isabel acts as an independent watchdog addressing issues of waste and fraud. Isabel’s career includes notable roles such as Deputy Inspector General of Investigations for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Chief of Special Prosecutions/Economic Crimes for the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office, and Assistant State Prosecutor focusing on political corruption. Isabel holds a Juris Doctorate and MBA from the University of Baltimore and a BBA from James Madison University.
