Fenner Stewart

Fenner Stewart is an accomplished academic and legal expert with extensive experience in law and governance, currently serving as an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Calgary since July 2014. In addition to academic roles, Fenner holds several influential positions including Member and Research Fellow in the Energy and Environment Group, and Board Member. In the private sector, Fenner is involved with Dentons as Publications Editor and a member of the Smart Cities & Connected Communities Initiative and Think Tank. Other significant roles include serving as a Climate Governance Expert for the Canada Climate Law Initiative, and contributing to the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators as a member of the Education Advisory Board and Professor in Residence. Previous positions include Director at Capital University Law School and various research and clerkship roles. Fenner’s educational credentials include a PhD in Law from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, an LLM from The University of British Columbia, and a BA in English Literature from the University of Prince Edward Island.
