Joy Allen BA Hons MSc MBA is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in public service and governance. Currently, Joy serves as a Governor at Advance Learning Partnership, an Executive Committee Member of the Fabian Society, and a Board Member at the North East Business Resilience Centre. Additionally, Joy holds the position of Durham Police and Crime Commissioner and is involved with the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners in multiple capacities, focusing on emergency services collaboration, road safety, environment and sustainability, and alcohol and substance misuse. Previous roles include Cabinet Member for Transformation and Safer Communities at Durham County Council, National Prevent Champion at the UK Home Office, and Licensing Champion for the Local Government Association. Joy earned an MBA from Durham University and an MSc in Security and Crime Risk Management from the University of Leicester.
